Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora

Montbretia - Flowering from July to October. Montbretia is so abundant in Irish hedgerows that it is sometimes mistakenly considered a native plant. This is not so. It is an introduced variety from Africa. It is so abundant in the west of Ireland it is a somewhat invasive to flower gardens. Having said that, still a beautiful flower that show a spectacle in masses or solitary form! Photographed at Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim.
