Rhinanthus minor

Yellow-rattle - native to Europe, northern North America, and Western Asia. It is a short lived plant. Its scientific name (Rhinanthus) is derived from Greek and means 'nose flower', which is in reference to the shape of the upper lip. I photographed these plants at Dowra near the Cavan Leitrim border flowering in late June.
