Cistanche phelypaea
Yellow Broomrape - can grow to 30cm tall. Found in sandy dry and warm coastal areas where tidal inlets occur. This is an edible plant sometimes eaten like asparagus. These were in abundance in the Alvor Estuary Portugal flowering in April.
