Linum bienne

Pale Flax - An attractive dainty pale blue flower with dark blue veins leading to a darker pistil. It prefers dry sunny areas. It can grow up to 2ft and is pollinated by bees and other insects. It is present in some parts of the UK and Ireland although this specimen was photographed the the Algarve region of Portugal flowering in early March.
