Dog Rose - Flowering from June to August the Wild Dog-rose adorns our hedgerows with beautiful clusters in pink or white blooms. It is a native climbing rose that develop hooked thorns to enable it to climb. Its edible fruit were often used to make rose-hip syrup producing high levels of vitamin C. They have also been used to make tea and wine or for medicinal purposes. Taken in Greaghnafarna Co. Leitrim.
