Romulea bulbocodium
Crocus-leaved Romulea - flowers from February to May. They vary in colour from the one shown here to white and even yellow. Although looking so much like a crocus this species is a member of the Iris family. Found in sandy and rocky soils. Photographed in the Algarve in mid April.
